Shastri was recently targeted by Shyam Manav, founder of Akhil Bharatiya Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti -ABANS, accusing him of spreading blind faith and questioning his spiritual powers.
After a Maharashtra-based organization challenged him to display his miraculous power in Nagpur, a self-styled godman claimed the skill was acquired by the grace of God and the mantras of Sanatan Dharma.
He stoked controversy by allegedly running away from a challenge by the Maharashtra-based Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti based in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh.
During the period of January 5-11, Mahant Dhirendra of Shri Dhirendra Krishna Shastri performed Ramkatha in Nagpur. This Katha was originally scheduled to last until January 13, but ended two days earlier for some reason.
Shyam Manav, the national convenor of the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti, accused Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of promoting superstition following the Katha.
During the Darbaar, Shyam Manav had announced a reward of 30 lakh rupees for Dhirendra Krishna Shastri for performing miracles.
As a response to Shyam Manav's allegations, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri asked, "Why didn't he challenge me when I was in Nagpur for seven days?"
According to Shastri, "if you are coming here to Raipur, I suggest that you inform us beforehand. Don't come here, leave, and then claim that you didn't meet us.
In a statement to Sudarshan News, he said, "These people haven't spared Lord Ram, so we are commoners." We do not need to run away or feel threatened by them. It is our sincere hope that you check your facts before you listen to any of these people speak. Then trust them because this is a well-thought-out conspiracy.
