Recent Housing Scheme
The Atal Puram Township 2025 is the most recent and one of the most ambitious housing projects launched by the Agra Development Authority (ADA). Inaugurated on 5th August 2025, this township marks ADA’s major return to large-scale housing development after 36 years. The project is strategically located near the Agra Inner Ring Road, Southern Bypass, and Gwalior Road, covering the villages of Kakua and Bhandai. Spread over 138 hectares (around 340 acres), the township will be developed in three phases across 11 sectors.
The first phase includes 1,430 residential plots, 18 group housing plots, and 96 commercial plots, designed to accommodate nearly 10,000 families upon completion. The residential plots are priced at approximately ?29,500 per square meter, and registrations began on 8th August 2025, with allotments to be done through a transparent lottery system. The Atal Puram Township focuses on providing a modern, eco-friendly, and well-planned living environment with wide roads, green belts, and essential civic amenities such as drainage, electricity, and parks.
About Agra Development Authority (ADA)
The Agra Development Authority was established under the U.P. Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973, with the goal of ensuring organized and sustainable development of Agra city and its surrounding areas. ADA is responsible for urban planning, land acquisition, layout approvals, infrastructure development, and implementing housing projects that align with the city’s long-term growth vision. Over the years, the authority has worked towards improving Agra’s housing landscape, developing residential and commercial zones, and providing citizens with affordable housing solutions.
Vision and Objectives:
• To transform Agra into a well-planned, sustainable, and inclusive urban city.
• To provide affordable housing options for all income groups.
• To develop modern infrastructure such as roads, sewage systems, water supply, and public amenities.
• To promote mixed-use townships combining residential, commercial, and institutional spaces.
• To prevent unplanned urban sprawl and ensure balanced growth across the region.
• To use transparent procedures in land acquisition and allotment to maintain public trust.
Past Housing Schemes
The Atal Puram Township 2025 is the first large-scale housing project launched by ADA after a gap of several decades. However, the authority has previously executed smaller residential and commercial development projects across the city. Some of the notable initiatives include:
• Dayalbagh Housing Extension Project – Focused on creating modern residential units in an eco-friendly environment.
• Kailashpuri Housing Scheme – Provided residential plots for middle-income groups with essential civic amenities.
• Agra Inner Ring Road Area Development Plan – Promoted housing and commercial projects along the city’s new transport corridors.
Conclusion
With the launch of the Atal Puram Township, the Agra Development Authority has embarked on a new era of planned urban expansion. The project not only addresses the growing housing demand but also symbolizes ADA’s commitment to developing Agra into a modern, sustainable, and well-connected city. By integrating affordable housing, infrastructure, and environmental considerations, ADA continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of urban living in Agra.
