Recent Housing Scheme
The Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has recently launched an important housing initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY-U] to provide affordable homes to citizens belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Lower Income Group (LIG).
Under this scheme, RUDA has developed 1,020 residential units in Town Planning Scheme No. 9 (Motamawa-Munjka area). Out of these, 876 units are allotted for the EWS category (each around 25 sq. m.), and 334 units are for the LIG category (each around 30 sq. m.). These modern housing units are built with essential amenities and located in well-planned residential towers.
Additionally, RUDA has sanctioned around 2,680 new houses under the Building or Buying (BLC) component of PMAY-U across 52 villages under its jurisdiction, out of which 2,397 houses have already been completed by March 2024. This large-scale development reflects RUDA’s dedication to inclusive growth and housing for all.
Key Features of the Scheme:
• Construction of 1,020 units in TP Scheme No. 9 (Motamawa-Munjka).
• Focus on EWS and LIG categories.
• Modern residential infrastructure with essential amenities.
• Additional 2,680 homes sanctioned under the PMAY-U BLC component.
• Aim to ensure affordable and quality housing for all sections of society.
