Recent Housing Scheme
The Gandhinagar Urban Development Authority (GUDA) has introduced new housing initiatives aimed at improving housing accessibility for all income groups, especially the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Low-Income Groups (LIG), and Middle-Income Groups (MIG).
The latest plan focuses on developing affordable housing zones across different sectors of Gandhinagar. GUDA has identified Sector 3A and 2A for EWS/LIG housing, Sector 6 for lower-income housing, and Sector 30 for middle-income families. Additionally, a special affordable housing zone has been proposed near the Ring Road area.
The authority has also introduced discounts ranging from 10% to 40% on Jantri (government) land rates, depending on the size of the dwelling. Along with these initiatives, GUDA is working on the redevelopment of old government housing colonies through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models to modernize living spaces and improve infrastructure.
