About Burdwan Development Authority (BDA)
The Burdwan Development Authority (BDA) was established in 1999 under the West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act, 1979. It functions under the Department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Government of West Bengal. The authority is responsible for planned urban development, housing, and infrastructure creation within the Bardhaman Planning Area, which spans around 157.62 sq. km.
