Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority
The Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority is a special, designated urban development authority that has been created with the purpose of structuring, designing and organizing the commercial and financial hub of Punjab, Ludhiana. The broad scope of work that this authority falls outside the municipal corporation limits. Within the municipal corporation limits, the authority has the mandate to design, develop and re-structure those urban estates which have not been handed over to the municipal corporation.
The authority is also responsible for all overall development and maintenance of commercial pockets within these urban estates already handed over to city corporations. Apart from this; creative designing reserved sites is also entrusted to the Authority. No organization can achieve its intended objective without people's participation. It is needless for me to say; as it has been said before: "that we are meant for you and duty bound to cater to your demands and requests."

The government of Punjab believes that the jobs of development and redevelopment would be better served if left to a Special Authority instead.
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 29(I) the Punjab Regional and Town Planning & Development Act, 1995 (Punjab Act No.11 of 1995), the Governor of Punjab is pleased to constitute the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority for area falling in city of Ludhiana and other area falling within the revenue district of Ludhiana and Phillaur district of Jalandhar.
