About the Festival
The festival celebrates the Indian science of health and wellness, developed by the great sage Patanjali, combining postures, breathing techniques, and a harmonious way of life. Yoga has inspired millions worldwide, and the festival offers an immersive experience for detoxifying your body, mind, and spirit.
Why Rishikesh?
Rishikesh is the birthplace of yoga, home to sages and yogis for centuries. Known as the Yoga Capital of the World, it attracts participants from all over the globe. In past editions, thousands of attendees from over 80 countries have joined, forming a vibrant, conscious community.
History
Founded in 1999 at Parmarth Niketan Ashram under the guidance of Pujya Shri Swami Veda Bharat Ji, the festival has grown into a world-renowned event. Initially guided by Yogacharya Shri Bharat Bhushan Ji, it has steadily expanded, encompassing all traditional yoga schools and styles of India.
7-Day Yoga Celebration
Over seven days, participants experience a comprehensive schedule combining traditional and contemporary yoga, meditation, wellness workshops, and cultural immersion. The festival brings together spiritual leaders, master yoga teachers, wellness specialists, and thought leaders from across the globe.
Daily Program (Typical Schedule)
• 4:00 AM: Kundalini Sadhana (for committed practitioners)
• 6:30 AM: One-hour Yoga Session followed by breakfast
• 8:30 AM -11:00 AM: Multiple two-hour Yoga classes
• 11:00 AM: Spiritual lectures by saints and Yogacharyas
• 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Traditional Indian lunch
• 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Afternoon Yoga sessions
• 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Ganga Aarti at the riverbank
• 7:00 PM: Dinner
• 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM: Evening cultural programs, Satsang, and performances
