Rituals and celebrations
During Akshaya Tritiya, people observe a day-long fast. Devotees offer Lord Vishnu "Akshate" (unbroken rice coated in turmeric and kumkum) and Bhog to Lord Ganesh and Lord Vishnu.
People purchase gold, silver, properties, and other valuables on Akshaya Tritiya. Marriages are also auspicious on this day. Worshipping Lord Kuber is considered auspicious.

Tritiya refers to the third day of the waxing phase of the moon during Vaishakh month (April-May). The main benefit of Akshaya Tritiya is that whatever you donate or buy on the day will increase in value.
Akshaya Tritiya Puja Vidhi
Start the day early on Akshaya Tritiya by taking a sacred dip in a holy river. At home, set up an altar and install statues of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi. Akshaya Tritiya is considered highly auspicious to place a new idol of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi in the puja corner at home. Prepare a paste by mixing sandalwood powder with rose water and applying it to the idols of Ganesha and Lakshmi.
Some may perform Lakshmi Narayan puja too. Adorn the deities with sandalwood paste and tilak, and chant mantras for Ganesh, Maha vishnu, and Mahalakshmi. Prepare a special dish of milk, rice, and chana dal as an offering to the gods. Conclude the puja by doing arati and distributing prasad among those present.

Akshaya Tritiya story Lord Krishna
Shri Krishna's greatness and might are displayed in two meaningful tales.
With a fistful of flattened rice (Poha), Sri Krishna's poor Brahmin friend Sudama once visited his palace.
Sudama secretly consumed Shri Krishna's share of the food as a child. As a result, he returned the portion to rid himself of guilt. The humble offering was accepted by Shri Krishna.
Shri Krishna silently showers his friend with fortunes. Sudama's misery ended as he became wealthy. This occurrence occurred on the Tritiya Tithi, Vaishakha, and Shukla Paksha day, hence its significance.
Another folklore claims that Shri Krishna saved the Pandavas from Sage Durvasa's wrath by turning their empty food pot into an Akshaya Patra (an endless supply of food).
Shri Krishna turned the empty bowl into an endless pot of food so that Draupadi and the Pandavas could escape Sage Durvasa's curse/anger.
The mighty Ganga- On Akshaya Tritiya, the mighty and heavenly river Ganga descended on the earth at the behest of King Bhagiratha to help his ancestors attain Moksha (salvation).
Lord Parashuram- In Hinduism, Akshaya Tritiya is believed to be the birthday of Parasurama, the sixth avatar of Vishnu, who is worshipped in Vaishnava temples. Those who observe it in his honor sometimes call it Parasurama Jayanti.
Akshaya Tritiya for marriage- The Hindu traditional and cultural society holds Akshaya Tritiya in very high regard. The word Akshaya means 'never ending', which is why it is considered extremely auspicious for marriages.
